Don't say I didn't tell yall about Danni...I bought  her new album "STORYBOOK" on itunes a few weeks ago...and I CANT Stop playing it!!!!!! Its AMAZING!!!!!!!! Like for real!!!! I have so many favorites but I ran across  2 of them on youtube...a rehearsal video of her singing "I FORGIVE YOU" and another favorite "Live Your Life".... HOW TO LOVE

I read a tweet this morning that said "There is nothing more beautiful than a person whose heart has been broken, but still believes in love..."

I really like  Lil Wayne's new song "How to Love" but when I heard my boy Brandon Hines' version of the song, I lost it! He murdered it! The words are oh so familiar...and I am sure many people can relate to them...(even if they haven't danced on a pole before)... But when I grew to know God more and experienced his Love, it made me look at love in a whole new way...His love is the Blueprint of my life....Its constant and true...and for that, I am able to Forgive...and Love again....

HE'S A GOOD BROTHER!!!

For those who truly know me knows that the closest thing to me is my Brother...Say something bad about my brother and the hood rat will come out! lol..I am the baby of nine, but it has always seemed like it was two babies in the family...Myself...and Mario. We are only a year a part but the way we act, you would think we were twins.

 This Blog Post is me simply venting because I miss him so much! We only see each other a few times out of the year because we live so far a part. He's all the way on the West Coast...and Im East. I look up to my brother so much...

We laugh together and we cry together,we make sure we keep each other lifted through trying times, but if nothing else...we ACT A FOOL TOGETHER!

...He is a Hard Worker, He's honest, compassionate, Disciplined and a big goof ball! What I love most about my brother is that he is the BEST FATHER IN THE WORLD!!! He treats his daughter like a princess and he jumps on flight after flight just to spend time with her...I wish they had a reality show on GOOD FATHERS because they exist and my brother would definitely be apart of the cast!

 Mario just recently entered into his first Fitness Competition in Las Vegas and he came in 7th place! I am so proud of him...so proud that I had to share with the world!!! I cant wait to see where God takes him next in life!  GO RIO GO!!!SOLDIER BROTHER!!!!!! :-)

TEARING DOWN THE WALLS...

I live for good Theatre...Theatre that illuminate the human spirit: the good in us as well as the bad in us. Theatre that inspires, encourages, and forces to me to walk away thinking about my life and how I could make an impact in the world...well Daniel Beaty's work definitely makes me do all of that and more.

Ive been a HUGE fan of Daniel's work for a few years now. His work is PHENOMENAL!!! I first heard of him through a good friend, Curtis Hodge who had worked on his One Man Show "Emergence- See." at Freedom Theatre in Philadelphia. Then I was honored to see his One Man Show "Through the Night" 3 times (Yes It was that good).

 Shortly after, I saw the reading of "Breathe and Imagination" (Cant wait to see that on its feet...I KNOW its gonna be a powerhouse performance). And finally, there is "Tearing Down The Walls." "A show Infused with soulful music, impassioned spoken word and laugh-out-loud humor, Tearing Down The Walls tells the story of the residents of a tight-knit Harlem community upended and pushed to the limit by life's challenges, but who find hope in the most unusual places." Ive seen the show twice and its a nice piece of work. What I love most about it is the music (Charles Mack and Jamal Joseph). The show is filled with young talented actors who will make you laugh, cry and think. The show is playing through May 29 at the Riverside Theater, 91 Claremont Avenue, at 121st Street, Morningside Heights; (212) 870-6784; theriversidetheatre.org. Go Support Good Theatre!!!!! :-)

GOOD MORNING!!! HAPPY MONDAY!!!! This morning I read an email from Tyler Perry (no he didnt just send it to me, it goes out to millions of people lol) The email talked about his success at the NAACP Image Awards this past weekend. (A special congratulations to my good friend Cornelius Smith Jr for his nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series.)

After the Award Show, Tyler Perry hosted a party called "Rise Above It Celebration" dedicated to all of those Actors who would go on 1000 auditions just to book that one job, when all others have to do is make a few phone calls. There were so many great things in this letter that he shared with his guests at the party about pressing forward from negativity and how your thoughts are powerful "As a man thinketh so is he." There is one part I would like to share with you from the letter....Tyler told a story about him living in New Orleans and how his mom would take him 80 miles away on higher ground for safety whenever there would be a Hurricane Warning...(New Orleans is 6 feet below sea level)...he paralleled that to life in genereal...

"In life there will be a lot of things thrown at you. Take them as they come. Some things you fight, but most you dont. Rise above it! Nothing can hurt you when you stay in the high place. Its safe there. And dont worry about your enemies. The 23rd Psalm says "Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies", which means, in order for you to eat, then your enemies have to be present! (smile)"

After reading Tyler's letter, I immediately began humming this song....I hope you are encouraged...as my friend Maul would say...GO WIN THE DAY!!!! and while you're at it...GO WIN SOME SOULS!!! :-)

HAPPY WOMEN HISTORY MONTH!!!!!

In celebrating Women's History Month for the month of March, I am gonna take some time out to celebrate some wonderful women...some you may know...some you may not know...But they all have inspired me in some way or another to keep that fire inside of me burning...and to do what I believe my purpose in life is to do...and that is simply to Love and Serve....

I want to kick off the celebration honoring CATHERINE!!!!!!...No not me,LOL, my beautiful grandmother, Catherine Jordan...also known as Littlema.

She was a gorgeous woman who was extremely feisty. She was hilarious and would curse you out in a minute. She taught me how to keep a clean house (She would never let us go anywhere in the house except for the Den and we always had to use the restroom downstairs lololololol )  We couldn't enter the house through the front door and when we came from the side door we had to immediately take our shoes off. Don't let her catch us on her grass.....that was another story....and whenever we would ask my mom for something and Littlema was around, she would interject and answer the question before my mom could even answer. She always had some fly cars in the driveway that she never drove..she only drove her white Lincoln Town Car..she would come over our house everyday right in time for dinner, and leave as soon as she was finished. And when she left, she would constantly beep the horn as she pulled out of the driveway so she wouldn't hit any kids..(That's where I learned how to stay focus, know what I want, get it and keep it moving lol) and she loved to play Solitaire and tape her stories...Her favorite was the Young and the Restless. Boy do I remember the car trips to Joliet Illinois. It was a 5 Hour drive and the only thing we listened to was The OJAYS!!!! (I think that's why I love them so much) She never left the house looking a mess, and you NEVER saw her without her wig lol. She was a DIVA!!!! wow Littlema was so mean lolololol but in a good way....I grew up in the "hood" but it wasn't the hood that made me tough and ready for the world...it was Littlema.  Such a classy fire ball. I miss her so much and everyday when I am out here trying to "MAKE IT" I go with her spirit in mind.

PURPOSE...

These past two weeks were....let's just say....challenging....So many different things happened...Good,  Bad, and Ugly...and I couldn't quite understand why things were unfolding the way they were...My trust in God, trust in myself, gift, skill, patience, humility, character, and everything else were tested...but in all of it, I knew God was still in control and in the end, I prayed to him a simple prayer..."Let Your Will Be Done"...and it was so...and I am at peace... So now I want to share something small that was shared to me...

GREAT STATE OF GEORGIA

I remember when I first saw the posting for the pilot of "Great State of Georgia" for ABC Family submissions...I definitely submitted to Marci Phillips...I definitely didnt hear anything back from her team either lol....But when I learned that Raven Symone will be leading the pack I thought YES!!!! I love Raven! I still will be plotting to see how I can get on the show.... Cant wait to see it!!
