GOOD MORNING!!! HAPPY MONDAY!!!! This morning I read an email from Tyler Perry (no he didnt just send it to me, it goes out to millions of people lol) The email talked about his success at the NAACP Image Awards this past weekend. (A special congratulations to my good friend Cornelius Smith Jr for his nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series.)

After the Award Show, Tyler Perry hosted a party called "Rise Above It Celebration" dedicated to all of those Actors who would go on 1000 auditions just to book that one job, when all others have to do is make a few phone calls. There were so many great things in this letter that he shared with his guests at the party about pressing forward from negativity and how your thoughts are powerful "As a man thinketh so is he." There is one part I would like to share with you from the letter....Tyler told a story about him living in New Orleans and how his mom would take him 80 miles away on higher ground for safety whenever there would be a Hurricane Warning...(New Orleans is 6 feet below sea level)...he paralleled that to life in genereal...

"In life there will be a lot of things thrown at you. Take them as they come. Some things you fight, but most you dont. Rise above it! Nothing can hurt you when you stay in the high place. Its safe there. And dont worry about your enemies. The 23rd Psalm says "Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies", which means, in order for you to eat, then your enemies have to be present! (smile)"

After reading Tyler's letter, I immediately began humming this song....I hope you are encouraged...as my friend Maul would say...GO WIN THE DAY!!!! and while you're at it...GO WIN SOME SOULS!!! :-)

HAPPY WOMEN HISTORY MONTH!!!!!

In celebrating Women's History Month for the month of March, I am gonna take some time out to celebrate some wonderful women...some you may know...some you may not know...But they all have inspired me in some way or another to keep that fire inside of me burning...and to do what I believe my purpose in life is to do...and that is simply to Love and Serve....

I want to kick off the celebration honoring CATHERINE!!!!!!...No not me,LOL, my beautiful grandmother, Catherine Jordan...also known as Littlema.

She was a gorgeous woman who was extremely feisty. She was hilarious and would curse you out in a minute. She taught me how to keep a clean house (She would never let us go anywhere in the house except for the Den and we always had to use the restroom downstairs lololololol )  We couldn't enter the house through the front door and when we came from the side door we had to immediately take our shoes off. Don't let her catch us on her grass.....that was another story....and whenever we would ask my mom for something and Littlema was around, she would interject and answer the question before my mom could even answer. She always had some fly cars in the driveway that she never drove..she only drove her white Lincoln Town Car..she would come over our house everyday right in time for dinner, and leave as soon as she was finished. And when she left, she would constantly beep the horn as she pulled out of the driveway so she wouldn't hit any kids..(That's where I learned how to stay focus, know what I want, get it and keep it moving lol) and she loved to play Solitaire and tape her stories...Her favorite was the Young and the Restless. Boy do I remember the car trips to Joliet Illinois. It was a 5 Hour drive and the only thing we listened to was The OJAYS!!!! (I think that's why I love them so much) She never left the house looking a mess, and you NEVER saw her without her wig lol. She was a DIVA!!!! wow Littlema was so mean lolololol but in a good way....I grew up in the "hood" but it wasn't the hood that made me tough and ready for the world...it was Littlema.  Such a classy fire ball. I miss her so much and everyday when I am out here trying to "MAKE IT" I go with her spirit in mind.

PURPOSE...

These past two weeks were....let's just say....challenging....So many different things happened...Good,  Bad, and Ugly...and I couldn't quite understand why things were unfolding the way they were...My trust in God, trust in myself, gift, skill, patience, humility, character, and everything else were tested...but in all of it, I knew God was still in control and in the end, I prayed to him a simple prayer..."Let Your Will Be Done"...and it was so...and I am at peace... So now I want to share something small that was shared to me...

GREAT STATE OF GEORGIA

I remember when I first saw the posting for the pilot of "Great State of Georgia" for ABC Family submissions...I definitely submitted to Marci Phillips...I definitely didnt hear anything back from her team either lol....But when I learned that Raven Symone will be leading the pack I thought YES!!!! I cried my eyes out when I watched this on The View...I have so much to say......but I dont even know where to begin...

I FEEL SO BIG RIGHT NOW!!!

Its nothing like a Great Dream or Vision God gives us. I mean, when God shows me something I get so excited and most times we all either get excited or get scared lol...Just a few months ago, God assigned to me something so Great...and I got excited...AT FIRST...then I thought...ok how in the world am I suppose to do this? Ive never done this before....but then I realized...duuhhh go to the source...after all, he gave it to you...and do you really think God is gonna give you an assignment without instruction??? And when he give you instruction, do you really think its gonna send you in the wrong direction??? (I definitely have to check myself sometimes lol). I believe its in Proverbs 8:33 where it says "Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not disregard it. ³⁴ Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. ³⁵ For those who find me find life  and receive favor from the LORD."

So after he gives us instruction, whats next???? GO IN!!!! Walk Boldly, and in every instruction he gives us..DO IT...and DO IT WITH EXCELLENCE!! and when it gets rough...I always remember this...

Has anyone been watching Paula Abdul's new show Live To Dance??? Everyone who truly knows me know that Dance is my Heart. It was my very first start as an Artist at the ripe old age of 4 (or 5...actually I cant remember how old I was but what I do remember is Tap Class with Ms. Montgomery and Jazz with Ms Denise Ward Pryer at Detroit Windsor).

(Don't Clown Me....lol)

Anywho...I went twitter crazy when I learned that my childhood friend Brandon "B Hobbs" was on the show. Brandon is such a BEAST!!!!! I remember learning my first Jitting routine in my sister's garage on Piedmont from him when the Candy Boyz was practicing for some battle. I wonder if he remember that... (Wow... the memories...lol)


Anywho...


Ive been watching Brandon from a far for a very long time now and I was so proud of him on the show. Unfortunately, they didnt keep him on long enough to really see how DOPE this guy is...but soon the world will see. 20/20 VISION

The first month of 2011 is almost over already! At the top of the year, I put together my Vision Board and I'm sure most of you did the same (Isn't it so much fun!!!). A month ago, I had a long conversation (via email) with one of my close friends William, whose studying over in the UK, about a project God assigned to me and as William was helping me plan the beginning stages of it, he said something very valid to me about some questions that I needed to answer:

 He said, " this is what separates the inspired from the prepared...the inspired have great ideas; the prepared understand how to translate that into reality."

Now as much as I had heard that...just worded in another way...it really hit me in a different way when he said it and allowed me to change the way I attack the things that I am inspired to do.

When I did my Vision Board this year, I had the VISION on one board, and the PLAN on another...after all...it only make sense to plan for all of the things that I am praying for right....reminds me of the scripture "Faith without Works is Dead" (James 2:20). I also made sure that the things on my Vision Board lined up to the thiings God wants for me....talk about getting out of my own way...no sense of praying for something that's not in God's will...

THE INSPIRED...

THE PREPARED...

This is the year of Maturity....

"Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the Vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." -Habakkuk 2:2-3
